Opening ceremony
Many guests from cultural, artistic and other circles attended the opening on 27 July. Congratulatory speeches were given by Shinpei Matsushita, member of the House of Councillors; Huang Xingyuan, Chinese Representative Director of the Japan-China Friendship Center; and Kiyomi Seno, Executive Adviser of the Japan-China Association. Former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama sent a written message.
Chamber President Huang Shi exhibited his own work and also spoke on behalf of the organisers. He said he hoped art would deepen Japan-China exchange, draw more artists in, and carry cultural ties and friendship between the two countries on to the next generation.
With art as a shared language, the exhibition brought people and hearts in Japan and China closer together. Alongside economic exchange, the Chamber will continue to support mutual understanding through culture and the arts.
