Opening addresses

Chi Changde, Chief Representative of the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Representative Office in Japan, who was on official duty in China, sent a video message congratulating the organisers and thanking partners and participants. Drawing on detailed figures, he outlined two-way investment between Japan and Shenzhen and encouraged Shenzhen companies going abroad to keep building the "Made in Shenzhen", "Shenzhen Innovation" and "Shenzhen Services" brands. He pledged that the office would be "a trusted service window and a bridge to resources".

"Once you come, you're a Shenzhen person!" With this rallying call, Huang Shi, President of the Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce in Japan, described the background to the Chamber's founding and its path so far, and explained its mission of providing a platform for business matching, information exchange and cooperation between Japan and Shenzhen.

Talks

  • Weng Daokui (President, Japan Shenzhen Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Association), "All About Japan-China Investment": after setting out the seminar's theme and context, he began from the point that the yen remains the world's preferred safe-haven currency and outlined opportunities for Japan-China investment. Drawing on the central role of small and medium-sized firms in Japan's economy and on stock-market trends, he examined the scope for M&A and restructuring. His clear, practical talk drew warm applause.
  • Tomoki Izumikawa (President, Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade): reviewed the association's 72-year history and its experience in Japan-China economic exchange. Drawing on recent visits to Shenzhen and Beijing, he spoke of the dynamism of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and expressed a strong wish for closer cooperation with Shenzhen and China.
  • Zheng Yuanlong (Section Manager, Corporate Banking, Bank of Communications Tokyo Branch), "Financial Services Supporting Chinese Companies Abroad": using the example of overseas executives opening accounts in Japan, he explained the bank's global and Japanese network, services and strengths, its support for Japanese investment in China, and its role in arranging elderly-care study visits and partnerships. The talk prompted a lively Q&A.
  • Anna Hoshikawa (CEO, Metamars Inc.; official TikTok partner in Japan), "Operating Experience and Outlook": introduced the company's one-stop TikTok ecosystem management service and shared, with ample data, lessons in e-commerce operations and the outlook for e-commerce in Japan.
  • Chen Haiteng (President, FINX JCrypto Co., Ltd.), "Japan's Web3 Market and Opportunities": speaking for a Chinese-affiliated exchange and brokerage and drawing on decades in Asian, especially Japanese, finance, he reviewed opportunities in Japanese securities and urged companies to "seize the strategic window of policy support concentrated in 2026–2027 and act decisively in both securities allocation and Japan-China M&A".
  • Zhang Linfeng (Japan Representative, Pylontech), "How Investment in Japan Is Changing with the Times": analysed four shifts, in core paradigm, underlying logic, sector opportunities and investment strategy, and predicted that "whoever solves Japan's labour shortage and the upgrading of advanced manufacturing will be the next generation's winner".

Guests

Guests included Liu Xin, Director General of the Foreign Liaison Department of the Beijing Municipal Government, who was visiting Tokyo; Xia Meng, Deputy General Manager of the Bank of Communications Tokyo Branch; and Yutaka Iwasa, Japan Representative of the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Representative Office. Networking and outlook

The programme closed with networking and an exchange of business cards. Even amid a shifting international landscape, economic exchange and cooperation between nations remain the defining current of our time. The seminar's success encouraged business leaders and practitioners in both countries. The two organisations will keep creating productive opportunities to connect companies in Shenzhen and Japan.
