On Friday 17 May 2024 President Weng Daokui visited Shenzhen University's Tokyo campus with Tian Changhao, Chief Representative of the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Office in Japan, and met Vice Dean Lan Yizhou (Chinese side) and Vice Principal Shinya Sau (Japanese side).
Discussion
Mr Tian and Mr Weng praised the school's curriculum, which combines Chinese with business management and IT, and the quality of its teaching, and said they hoped it would produce graduates able to work on the global stage. Both sides also spoke frankly about ways to improve the curriculum and student recruitment.
Proposals
- Mr Tian proposed listing the school's website on the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Office's website to raise its profile
- Mr Weng offered to host students at Vbest Law Office for visits in June and July, with internship interviews for those interested
Looking ahead
Mr Tian also noted that students would attend the Shenzhen–Tokyo AI Business Exchange hosted by the Shenzhen Council for the Promotion of International Trade on 24 May. Working with the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Office, the Association will continue to support young people who can connect Shenzhen and Japan.
