Partnership with Vector Inc. and Launch of the PANDA Japan-China Business Platform

On 1 October 2020 the Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce in Japan entered into a partnership with Vector Inc., then listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and opened early registration for PANDA, billed as the first membership-based business exchange platform between Japan and China.

Background

Japan-China business faces three barriers: an information barrier created by internet restrictions, a language barrier, and a cultural barrier of differing business practices. The high cost of communicating with overseas markets also holds companies back from expanding abroad. The two partners joined forces to remove these barriers and unlock untapped business opportunities in both countries.

Operations and schedule

Total Inc. of the Vector Group serves Japanese companies, and Vector China, Vector's local subsidiary, serves Chinese companies. Early registration opened on 1 October, with full operation planned for mid-December.

Founded in September 2019, the Chamber promotes economic and cultural exchange and development between Japan and China. Unusually for a Chinese chamber of commerce in Japan, many Japanese members serve in key positions and on its staff.
